The Ancient One is the Sorcerer Supreme who preceded Doctor Strange, a Tibetan mystic of immense magical power who lived for centuries. He trained Stephen Strange in the mystic arts, sacrificing himself to prevent Dormammu's incursion into Earth's dimension.
