Cannonball

Cannonball, born Sam Guthrie, is a Kentucky coal miner's son and mutant whose power generates a thermochemical energy field that propels him like a human cannonball while making him invulnerable to physical damage during flight. A founding member of the New Mutants and later a core member of X-Force and the X-Men, Sam's decency, leadership, and steadfast loyalty have made him one of the most trusted figures in the extended X-Men family.
