Dark Phoenix is the name given to Jean Grey after she was corrupted by the Phoenix Force, transforming from a noble hero into an entity of near-unlimited destructive power. The Dark Phoenix Saga, in which she consumed a star and destroyed a civilization before sacrificing herself, is one of Marvel's greatest stories.
