The Ultimates were the Marvel Ultimate Universe's answer to the Avengers — a government-sponsored super-team of elite powered individuals led by Nick Fury. Featuring Ultimate versions of Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, and the Hulk, the team was defined by moral ambiguity and brutal real-world consequences.
