The Ultimate X-Men are the counterparts to the classic X-Men in Marvel's Ultimate Universe — a reimagined, modernized continuity launched in 2000. Written initially by Mark Millar, the Ultimate X-Men are younger, edgier, and operate in a world even more hostile to mutants. The line introduced new interpretations of Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Grey, and the Brotherhood that influenced the Fox X-Men film series.
