Black Widow, born Natasha Romanoff, is Marvel's premier espionage operative — a former Soviet assassin trained in the Red Room who defected to become one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s greatest agents and a founding Avenger. Natasha possesses no superhuman powers, instead relying on elite martial arts, acrobatics, the Widow's Bite electrostatic weaponry, and decades of field experience. She is widely regarded as the most capable human operative in the Marvel Universe.
