Deadpool, born Wade Wilson, is the Merc with a Mouth — a former special forces operative who underwent the Weapon X procedure to cure his cancer, gaining a powerful healing factor that left him physically disfigured. Irreverent, chaotic, and aware that he is a comic book character, Deadpool breaks the fourth wall as readily as he breaks bones. Despite his violent methods and unstable mind, he has a recurring need for human connection that drives him toward heroism.
