J. Jonah Jameson is the blustering, mustached publisher of the Daily Bugle and Spider-Man's most persistent public critic. Convinced that Spider-Man is a menace and a fraud, Jameson has funded supervillains, printed smear campaigns, and devoted significant resources to unmasking the web-slinger — all without ever knowing his star photographer Peter Parker is the man behind the mask. His crusade against Spider-Man is one of comics' great running gags, with genuine pathos underneath.
