Alpha Flight is Canada's premiere government-sponsored superhero team, created by John Byrne as antagonists who come to retrieve Wolverine from the X-Men. Led by Guardian (James Hudson), the team includes Sasquatch, Snowbird, Northstar, Aurora, Puck, and Shaman. Alpha Flight is celebrated for its diverse Canadian cast and for giving Wolverine's past deeper roots.
